Description

Nancothan Mine 'Drift Moor Consols' Drift Valley, near Penzance, Cornwall.

A large specimen which has been cut and polished to reveal rich areas and veinlets of brown to back wood tin in mainly quartz matrix.

Nancothan Mine, not to be confused with the nearby Garth Mine' lies North of the river that flows through Drift and can be seen as a wheel pit and a walled flooded irregular oblong shaft or stope, difficult to find as the site is situated in dense vegetation.

Size 18 x 12 x 1 cm
