Sampsons Shaft, Ale & Cakes Mine, United Downs, Gwennap, Cornwall.
A large leaf of native copper partly coated with malachite with a small amount of slate matrix slate matrix.
Collected from a stope on 'Hot Lode' off Sampsons Shaft in the early 1980’s when RTZ were sampling the old workings for tin.
The mine is now completely covered by a land fill site.
