Wheal Treasury 'Mine Waters' Ruan Grade, Lizard Peninsular, Cornwall.

A piece of copper covered with chrysocolla and attached serpentine with several areas of native silver. The silver is rich can be seen poking through the chrysololla in areas up to 1.5cm in width.

Collected in the 1980's this specimen is probably the richest piece of native silver to come from the lizard and also a new locality.

The mine which is situated in the heart of the moor is ancient and can be seen as a small open work with a sampling trench dug around the working. The site is totally overgrown and now is in an area of conservation designation 'SSSI'.
