Wheal Bungay, St. Agnes, Cornwall.

A fine specimen displaying feldspar crystals to 1cm across replaced by rich black cassiterite in a pale hard elvan matrix.

This example was collected in March 2012 when a tractor ploughing a field on the Wheal Bungay mining set struck a mineralised elvan dyke and exposed several fine specimens.

Wheal Bungay is situated next to Wheal Coates which is also know to produce these replacements when the mine was active in the 1800s
