Wheal Pool Mine, Helston, Cornwall.
A quartz matrix with a good covering of mimetite, partially replaced and coated by carminite and segnitite, together with a later deposition of white mimetite, quite similar to material found at Penberthy Croft Mine.
Best viewed with a lens.
This rare locality specimen was found several years ago on the mine spoil during excavations by a group of mining enthusiasts. Sadly, they did not achieve their goal of reaching the adit level. From the Richard Hoston Collection.
