Cooks Kitchen Mine, Camborne, Cornwall.

A group of quartz crystals standing 8 cm tall which are coated in hematite and in turn with tiny sugar like double terminated quartz. On the main crystal group are several hollow lenticular casts of siderite to 2 cm, the siderite having been dissolved away leaving these quartz discs.

There are two almost identical examples from the same mine exhibited in the mineral gallery at The Truro Museum.

Originally from the Lt. Colonel Williams Collection, Burncoose Assay Office and comes with several other collection labels - Peter Golley, Colin Bailey, Paul Lowe.
